The operation of your store will be the same with the upgrade but you will now see the official ProStores logo in the Administration page of your store.
Key enhancements were made around the shopping cart and checkout features, inventory management, eBay integration with Pay Pal, and Search Engine optimization. Several changes were also made to make it easier for merchants to setup and design their store, along with improvements with the Design Studio home page and the creation of Dreamweaver extensions. All of these changes are expected to improve shopping cart performance.
Inventory management has been added to all tiers, including Express and Business tiers. For the Express Tier, merchants can specify whether products or not products are unique, while at the Business Tier, merchants can specify quantity at the product level. Inventory management is already included in the Advanced tier and includes the full set of tools: Quantity-based attributes, setting inventory threshold levels per product, backorders, and unit of measure. Inventory management can be found in Store Management>>Store Administration>>Store>>Product Preferences.
Merchants can determine whether or not to offer a checkout experience that does not require registration or sign-in by the buyer. To activate, go to Store Management>> Store Administration, Store>>General>>Search and Cart Options.
Merchants can now offer their customers a better shopping experience by allowing buyers to add multiple products to their shopping carts from the same page they are currently on. Buyers no longer need to go straight to their cart to view each product addition. To activate, go to Store Management>> Store Administration >>Store>>General>>Search and Cart Options.
For merchants who sell on eBay, we've made it easier to set-up and manage your eBay listings from ProStores.
Help drive more traffic to your store by optimizing it for natural search engines. This release includes a Search Engine Optimization guide to assist merchants in optimizing or "tuning" their own user defined store templates, product pages and search result pages. Merchants can also get tips on other ways to optimize for natural search. To access this feature go to Store Management>> Store Administration>>Product>>Optimize Search.
Merchants will now have a shipping calculator on the shopping cart page prior to checkout, giving buyers more information on what their shipping costs will be. Merchants should find less abandoned carts due to lack of sufficient shipping cost information. Also, a "Remove" link will be visible, making it easier for buyers to delete or make changes. These features will automatically appear on the checkout page of your store.
ProStores now offers the ability to auto-generate thumbnail images from any size product image you have. To generate thumbnails of a product image, go to Store Management>>Store Administration>>Product>>Add>>Basic Information.
