BLADE SERVERS TO REPLACE SHARED HOSTING SYSTEMS

Dynamic Concepts is in the final stages of a major hardware refresh at our Data Center facility. Beginning this month, we will be upgrading our shared hosting infrastructure to a leading industry Blade Server environment. Shared hosting and StoreSense customers can expect increased performance, due to the capabilities of these Blade servers.

A new Gigabit Ethernet backbone connects the individual thin Blade Servers, opening the door to higher-performing network links for our customers. In the shared Blade enclosure, redundant network, power supplies and RAID disk subsystems are maximized for superior business value and uptime. Each of the Blade Servers include the latest Operating System and development platforms for web and e-commerce applications.

Testing and trial migrations have been successfully performed, in the background, during the past two months. All servers will be replicated, prior to the switchover, to minimize the amount of down time.

System upgrades will be performed during a two-hour maintenance window. During that window, there will be periods when services, web sites and StoreSense stores will be unavailable. Each server being migrated must be stopped while the content is synchronized with the new server. The actual down time for a specific store or site should be no more than one (1) hour. General DNS and incoming e-mail, as well as web sites, ASP services and stores operating on Colocated or Dedicated Servers should not be affected.

The first migration, scheduled for Tuesday March 21st - 6-8pm PST, affects the following servers:

Primary and secondary DNS Name Servers
Linux Value, Business and Enterprise Hosting Servers
StoreSense Hosting Servers
Outgoing SMTP and Backup Mail Servers
AWSTATS Web Reporting Server

The second migration, scheduled for Wednesday March 22 - 6-8pm PST, affects the following servers:

Microsoft Windows 2003 IIS Hosting and .NET Servers
Microsoft MS/SQL 2000 Servers

Further consolidations will take place in the coming weeks for other servers used internally. These migrations will not affect customer sites or stores, however, certain client login features (email admin, statistics and graphs, etc.) may be unavailable during maintenance.
