Dynamic is committed to the ongoing development and support of our products. We are proud of the fact that we have not raised prices since 2001. In keeping with that tradition, the new October 2006 Price List does not raise the base prices for our languages, or optional components. Instead, we are moving to a subscription-based licensing model.
New licenses, including platform transfers, are available under one of two (2) subscription plans, annual or monthly. An annual subscription is based upon the payment of an initial license fee, followed by a 10% annual renewal. Monthly subscriptions (when required) are priced at 6%, per month, of the initial price of a license. If your installations typically include Software Assurance, there is in effect no change in pricing. Both subscription plans include the benefits of Software Assurance; however the subscription must be maintained for the life of use of the license.
Existing installations may continue to obtain upgrades and Software Assurance under essentially the same terms as before, unless you transfer to a new platform - either under Software Assurance or by purchasing a new license.
Please download and review the new 2006 Software Price List. It has been reformatted to include a one-page price matrix and descriptions of the licensing and purchasing terms. The SSN and individual product License Agreement(s) are also being reformatted into a single document. When new licenses and SSN's are emailed, you will receive only one attachment per license, instead of up to six.
LICENSING & UPGRADE REMINDERS:
- All new and upgrade licenses include the DynamicPaper form printer driver and ODBC server / client software.
- Installing a new server requires that you obtain an SSN upgrade to Dynamic's most recent release (or be covered by Software Assurance) - even if you continue to run an older version. Passport devices cannot be moved to a new server, unless upgraded or covered by Software Assurance.
- Concurrent user licensing applies only to employees, inside or remote, who log in from terminals or terminal emulators to directly run applications.
- Discrete user licensing is required for all other users, including systems that timeshare, poll requests, provide third-party access or act on external events like web pages, sockets, etc. A license for each possible or authorized user is required - even if not all access the system simultaneously. An unlimited dynamicXport license is available.
- A monthly subscription is required for licenses used for timesharing or ASP delivery, or when application software is provided on a subscription basis.
ENCRYPTION & NEW RELEASES:
Dynamic is adding encryption technology to dL4Term, UniBasic and dL4. dL4Term is now available with SSH and UniBasic/dL4 will soon have facilities to encrypt data files. As a result, Dynamic is required to obtain export approval from the US Government and amend our agreements accordingly. Changes to our online system are in progress, including the requirement that we obtain more information from you when downloading our software.
