New Releases of ODBC Server and dL4 Now Available

Tuesday November 06, 2007

Version 1.4.3 of the ODBCdL4 server has been released and is now available as the standard download through our website. This release supports a Link-One-To-Many feature, use of Windows as an ODBC server, external indexes (key only files), record number offsets, access to encrypted dL4 and UniBasic files, and some important bug fixes.

dL4 7.2.1 is now available by request only. This release increases binary compatibility to include most current Linux distributions for the x86 architecture. This release also adds the ability to send messages to UniBasic programs, issue multi-statement MySQL queries (1B, 6D, 55, 99, A1, and A4 platforms), search arrays with the POS() functions and various other enhancements. Note that while 7.2.1 is available on most platforms, file encryption is currently available only on 6D, 55, 99, A1, A4 and 1B platforms. This release requires an SSN for version 7 of dL4.

Multi-statement SQL queries and file encryption are not included on AIX (07/29), but will be supported in early 2008. Dynamic will discontinue porting new releases of its products for AIX 4 at the end of 2007. We will retain the porting system for support and emergency updates, should they become necessary. All new releases will be ported for use on AIX version 5.

These releases are available for: Linux (6D), SCO OpenServer 6 (55), SCO OpenServer 5 (99), Mac OS X Intel (A1), Mac OS X Power (A4), Windows (1B) and Solaris (1A) platforms.
