Dynamic Announces Major Upgrades for Hosting Services | | Monday November 15, 2004 |
Dynamic Concepts is pleased to announce major upgrades to our Internet Services. These upgrades will increase performance, reliability and scalability of our services and will be phased in over the coming months. As new services come online, we will inform you through email and news pages on dynamic.com. The following upgrades are in progress:

- Enterprise IMAP, Web and POP email server cluster (complete)

EMAIL
Our enterprise-class email delivery and transmission system is online and ready to service the needs of you and your customers. With all of the costs and complexities of managing email, more and more companies are outsourcing this vital business function.
The new service is comprised of (4) separate servers, operating together. Incoming email is first routed through the virus and spam filtering server(1), before it is either quarantined or delivered to your inbox on the primary mail server(2). A separate outgoing server(3) is dedicated to processing outbound mail. A backup email server(4) is on standby to accept or store incoming email should either of the incoming servers fail. Our mail services are built on industrial strength Unix servers running the Kerio email solution.
In addition to the standard POP and Web email service, our new server supports IMAP, allowing you to store, as well as organize into folders, all of your email on the server. With IMAP, you can have several computers (such as home, office, notebook and web) synchronize to the same messages and folders. Through the use of the free Kerio agent for Outlook, you can store your calendars and contacts on the server so they are available on multiple computers, as well as the web email interface. Secure Web, POP and IMAP connections are used to encrypt your email traffic.
During the coming months, all existing email customers will be migrated to the new servers, at no charge. SPAM and virus filtering are included with all email services. If you are interested in upgrading to the IMAP service, which includes 5GB of storage on the server for your email folders and data, please contact our sales department.
DEDICATED SERVER PROGRAM
The dedicated server program has been redesigned to address the diverse needs of our customers. Three different hardware configurations, Value, Business and Enterprise, range from a fast, single-processor Pentium 4 to dual-Xeon processors with redundant network cards, power supplies and raid 5. Our dedicated servers are built by DTR Business Systems using genuine Intel processors, motherboards and chassis. DTR has been delivering quality servers to Dynamic's software customers for over 20 years.
Support sevices are scalable for next-day, same-day and 4hr. 24/7/365 to suit your requirements. Managed services include web hosting, firewall/vpn, email, MySQL database, StoreSense, dynamicXport, custom applications and UniBasic/dL4. Systems are backed up nightly and include substantial bandwidth. Prices start at $249/month.
APPLE X-SERVE, CLUSTERS, X-RAID AND HOSTING SERVICES
A state-of-the-art cluster of Apple G-5 x-servers, running OS X server, will deliver shared hosting services, including Apache web server, Kerio email server, DNS, PHP, Perl, Java, MySQL, FileMaker, dL4, uniBasic, dynamicXport and Storesense. Fully expandable, the initial deployment consists of four (4) dual-processor G5 x-servers connected to a terabyte x-raid subsystem through gigabit ethernet and Fiber-channel.
Unix hosting customers will begin migrating to these servers in February 2005, with migrations completed by the end of Q1. Business and Enterprise web hosting customers are eligible for a free StoreSense site-edition (with store-builder), at no extra charge following the migration. Upgrades are available to StoreSense Standard, Professional and Pro Plus stores on the new platforms.
AWSTATS REPORTING SYSTEM
A new AW/STATS reporting system offers real-time reports for visitors to your web sites. This free service is included with all web sites, as well as StoreSense ecommerce stores, hosted at Dynamic. You can find your AW/STATS reports by logging onto: http://reports.dynamic.net/reports/yourdomainname
WINDOWS 2003 / SQL 2000 HOSTING
We have completed the migration of all Business and Enterprise Windows hosting clients from Windows NT and 2000, to a fault-tolerant server running Windows Server 2003. Our technical team is now migrating database users from SQL/7 to SQL 2000. Concurrently, Value (SOHO) Windows hosting accounts are also migrating to Windows 2003.
NETWORK LOAD BALANCING AND TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT
To improve the performance of data transmission between Dynamic and our upstream providers, we are installing an intelligent traffic management system. At a granular level, this device anaylzes traffic and re-routes individual data packets, based upon a number of criteria, through the upstream provider most able to handle the request. This system allows us to prioritize and balance traffic for maximum performance through our networks.
