What Is Software Assurance
Software Assurance is a subscription that provides
a wide range of benefits and services to UniBasic / dL4 users.
The annual subscription, priced at 10% of the retail price of
software on your license, can save you thousands of dollars in
the coming years by insuring against technological obsolescence
and helping to protect your important applications and data.
Disaster Recovery options, as well as the ability to
replace, upgrade, increase users or transfer your license to a new
server or operating system platform are available to licenses under
subscription. Without Software Assurance, you must purchase an upgrade
to add users or transfer your license to a new server.
A new license is required to move to a new platform.
Licenses newly purchased, or transferred to a different operating
system platform October 2006 or later are required to maintain the
subscription for the life of use of the license.
Older licenses may be covered under optional renewals or minimum
renewal periods as part of a promotion.
The renewal terms are shown on your SSN License Agreement.
What Software Assurance Subscriptions Offer:
Your OWN Disaster Recovery Dedicated Server [NEW]
- Synchronize important UniBasic and dL4 applications
and data to your own dedicated server1 hosted in Dynamic's
data center. We include UniBasic/dL4 licenses, RedHat Enterprise,
root access, disk space, unlimited bandwidth for synchronization,
weekly off-site rotation of data and DYNAMIC PROVIDES THE SERVER.
Off-Site Backup Storage & Internet Services [NEW]
- Backup important UniBasic and dL4 applications and data to our
backup servers. Use BackupEDGE, Acronis, or Veritas to compress,
encrypt and transfer your data to our servers. Software Assurance
includes a free account on our backup server, special prices2
for storage and discounts on hosting, email, and other Internet
services.
Purchase Additional Users on Your License - One at a Time [NEW]
- Increase your existing user license without having to
purchase more users than you need. Licenses can be issued
for any number of users from 1 to 128. Above 128, add up
to 31 additional users before moving to the next level.
Disaster Recovery Licenses For Secondary Servers Deployed by You
- If you purchase or manage your own secondary backup server(s),
you may obtain UniBasic / dL4 licenses on those for no upfront license
fees. Pay the 10% annual subscription for your primary and each
backup server.
Upgrades, Replacements and Transfers to a Different Development
or Operating System Platform
- Receive a 100% trade-in allowance for your existing license
and pay only the difference between the license fees when adding
users, moving to a different server or operating system platform3,
transferring users between UniBasic / dL4 / dynamicXport or between
IQ and ODBC. Consolidate a number of smaller licenses into a larger
system, or split a large license onto two or more servers.
Product Updates, Replacements and Revisions
- Free updates and replacement licenses for reasons such as new disk
drives or change in CPU. Receive technical support, through your installer,
on licensed Dynamic Concepts products at your site.
