UniBasic is an interactive business
BASIC development language that operates on
a wide range of Unix-based systems, including
AIX, Apache, Apple OS X, HP/UX, IBM, Linux,
SCO, Solaris and True-Unix. UniBasic is the
evolutionary migration path for applications
and data originally written for the IRIS, NIROS,
IDOS and BITS proprietary operating system platforms.
An included set of migration utilities provides
a 100% conversion of existing applications and
databases to Unix quickly and seamlessly.
The upcoming release 8 includes the
UniBasic ODBC server, providing access to UniBasic
data files from any ODBC compliant application
- including Microsoft Access and Crystal Reports,
compatibility with dL4 Portable files and the
dynamic paper form printer drivers.
Subscribers to Software Assurance are
entitled to this release at no charge.
Its open-systems architecture supports multiple
users on a single Unix host, resulting in an
extremely cost-effective solution for high volume
business transactions. It is not uncommon for
applications using UniBasic to host up to 2,048
users on a single system. The highly efficient
file structure is designed to provide rapid
access to small databases as well as those containing
millions of records.
UniBasic integrates with dynamicXport to web-enable
your existing applications and data. ASP
licenses for UniBasic allow the delivery of
legacy or web-enabled applications over the
Internet and you have the option of using our
data center and servers to seamlessly deliver
your applications.
