July 1999: dL4 Term Beta Release
Designed to allow dL4 applications running on Unix systems to use the same GUI features as dL4 version 4 for Windows, dL4Term also supports UniBasic and other Unix applications. In fact, even character-based UniBasic and dL4 installations may install dL4Term as a low-cost, replacement terminal emulator.

July 1999: UniBasic SDK Available Online Plus 6.1.2 Maintenance Release.
The UniBasic Software Development Kit (USDK) is now available, for all currently supported platforms. The USDK is used to add custom CALL's written in "C" to the UniBasic language.
Also A maintenance release of UniBasic version 6.1.2 is now available for Motorola SVR4 (platform C3).

May 1999:IQ 5.2 Release
Announcing the immediate release of IQ for Windows version 5.2. Some of the key features: Year 2000 compliance, UniBasic Universal Data files and also includes popular Microsoft 16-bit ODBC.

April 1999: dL4 Version 4 Beta
Announcing the first beta release of dL4 version 4. This beta release is available for the Windows platform and is provided so that customers can evaluate the new Graphical User Interface (GUI) programming features of dL4.

Febuary 1999: dL4 Makes Printing Easier
For everyone struggling to setup printers in dL4 for Windows, a solution has arrived. The Windows version includes a new page printer driver which makes it possible to output to any Windows printer.

September 1998: Converting to Universal Data Files
Is moving UniBasic data files from one platform to another platform a chore? If so, relief is here with UniBasic release 6 in the form of Universal Data files.

February 1998: Bringing up a Printer in dL4 for Windows
Many developers moving to dL4, and more specifically Windows 95 and NT, are faced with learning some differences between UNIX and Windows. One of the questions fielded by the Support Department frequently is, "How do I set up a dL4 printer file in Windows?" *NOTE: This article has been superseded by " Configuring a Printer for dL4 for Windows".

November 1997: UniBasic Erroneous Printer Lock Errors
We have discovered an incompatibility between SCO UNIX versions 3.2 and SCO OpenServer Release 5 (3,2v5) which may cause UniBasic to incorrectly report a "File isin use and locked" error while attempting to open a printer after its use.

September 1997: No More LUST

July 10, 1996: Building INDEX Files on Solaris SPARC
The DCI Support Team has learned that users of UniBasic Revisions 5.3.2 and 5.4 on Solaris SPARC cannot build INDEX files if the user's UID is greater than 65535.

July 10, 1996: UniBasic 5.5 Available
DCI is pleased to announce Release 5.5 of the UniBasic Runtime Language.

July 8, 1996: dL4 2.2 / Samples & Utilities 1.2 Available
DCI is pleased to announce Release 2.2 of the dL4 development system and runtime language and, also, Release 1.2 of dL4 Samples and Utilities.

June 1, 1996: UniBasic-IQ 3.1.2 Available
New and improved, this version of UniBasic-IQ is available now.

April 22, 1996: Passport 3.5.1
DCI has announced the immediate availability of Passport licensing software, Version 3.5.1, specifically for SCO Open Server 5 and SCO Unix.

December 1, 1995: dL4 Packaging & Distribution
dL4 is packaged and distributed as three separate items: Runtime, Development and Samples & Utilities.

November 1, 1995: Electronic Update
DCI upgraded its in-house modems to provide transfer rates up to 28.8bps.

September 1, 1995: Passport Security Revisited
Passport Security is a separate product, no longer bundled with UniBasic 5.4, dL4 1.x or UniBasic-IQ Version 3.x.

July 1, 1995: SCO Products
The Santa Cruz Operation (SCO) will formally obselete all versions of Xenix except for 2.3.4 as of October 1, 1995.

June 1, 1995: Altos/SCO Platform Unification
Altos now ships a standard SCO product with its systems. DCI has unified Platform15 (Altos) and Platform 99 (SCO Unix).

May 1, 1995: AIX 4.1 IBM RS/6000 and PowerPC
Version 4.1 of AIX was released for IBM's current line of Power Systems. AIX 4.1 is also available for PowerPC systems offered by IBM and others including Motorola.

April 1, 1995: UniBasic-NexGen 1.19
UniBasic-NexGen 1.19 is now available to all developers.

March 1, 1995: Passport Security
Passport Security has been established as a separate product to facilitate its independent development and use by multiple DCI products.
