Dynamic Concepts continues
to enhance the capabilities of the dL4 development language to meet the
needs of traditional and new developers alike. Our latest version,
5.1, includes UniBasic and IMS compatibility, as well as migration tools
to simplify deployment of this powerful development system. Coming
November 2002, our 5.2 beta adds color to the GUI interface as well as
support for MySQL - a powerful, inexpensive relational
database.
dL4 developers, including
CCA Medical and Systems Alternatives,
are using the GUI extensions to improve the look and feel of their applications. We
wish to extend our sincere appreciation to both organizations for
their contributions to the design
and feature set of GUI commands, included with dL4. Attached is a marketing piece,
courtesy of Systems Alternatives Int'l,
LLC which illustrates their applications - Before and After dL4
GUI.
Here are just a few examples of
what developers are doing with
dL4:
- Web Development - Simplify cgi programming - use in place
of: Perl, Java or MS
ASP
- Web Front-Ends - Use dynamicXport to link web pages in
real-time with existing applications
- GUI Development - Develop GUI
applications which run identically on both UNIX and
Windows
- Database Development -
Interface with FoxPro, Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL database
systems
- Internet Communications - Use
sockets and XML to obtain and exchange information over
networks
At our recent Advanced dL4
Training Seminar, developers learned how to put the power of dL4 to use
for new, as well as existing applications. With the newly released
migration tools, UniBasic and IMS installations are easily moved to
dL4. Licenses covered by DCI's Software Assurance subscription are
entitled to migrate to dL4 at no charge !
