April 1, 1995: UniBasic-NexGen 1.19

UniBasic NexGen Version 1.19 is now available to all developers. If you haven't downloaded this release, or are unequipped to do so, contact DCI immediately.

Several exciting new features have been included in this release, many of which were suggested by the numerous developers working with this exciting new product.

The POSIX TTY Window driver now includes a documented interface for channel I/O statements. Applications may open and operate on multiple windows concurrently. Controls include titles, wrapping and scrolling.

A new "FoxPro Full-ISAM" driver relaxes limits previously imposed for portability. The affected limits are the number and length of fields and the addition of E-notation.

BASIC errors which occur without an active error handler automatically invoke the debugger. In addition, variations on BREAK and NOBREAK commands simplify the debugging of complex procedures.

Remember that NexGen requires Passport 3.1 or higher. Download or order this product if you have not already done so. You may install NexGen 1.19 and Passport 3.1 on an existing UniBasic system without conflict. NexGen will operate in single-user demonstration mode without an SSN. For additional users, contact DCI for a demonstration SSN.

NexGen 1.19 is now available for the following platforms:

99 SCO Unix
72 IBM RS/6000
1A Solaris SPARC
8D DEC Alpha OSF/1

Download using "/usr/dist/xx/nexgen/1.19.Z" where xx is the two-character Platform ID Code. Other platforms may be available upon written request.
Additional documentation on new features is included on the distribution.
