November 1, 1995: Electronic Update
Dynamic Concepts has just completed an upgrade of our in-house
dial-in modems to provide transfer rates up to 28.8 bps. The new
modems are Motorola Power 28.8 and support V34 protocol. They
are also able to communicate with modems designed to run at lower
speeds, such as 14.4, 9600, etc.
The new modems facilitate faster transfer rates and better error
recovery when downloading software from our distribution system.
In addition, they will answer incoming dial-up SSN requests. Please
let us know if you experience any problems with the new system.
The DCI modem number is (949) 448-5299.
Even though our modems are capable of 28.8 bps transfer rates,
the A/D converter on our digital phone system limits most connections
to somewhere between 19.2 and 26.8. We are working with the phone
company to resolve this problem.
DCI has a Class C Internet address with the domain name unibasic.com. You may address
e-mail to anyone at DCI as follows: firstinitiallastname@unibasic.com.
Additionally, you may use the mailboxes: sales@dynamic.com and
support@dynamic.com.
Last month, DCI announced plans for a full-time Internet presence
in 1996. Virtually all participants at the DCI Reseller Conference
committed to obtaining e-mail addresses.
Once DCI is connected full-time, resellers will be able to download
software at even higher transfer rates for the price of a local
call to an Internet provider.
DCI is compiling a list of all clients with e-mail capability
to facilitate the distribution of technical information in a more
timely manner, as well as gauge interest and accessibility to
DCI's planned full-time Internet presence.
Please send us e-mail addresses of people in your organization.
