dL4Term With SSH Encryption Now Available
dL4Term with SSH and UniBasic / dL4 with data file encryption, have received US Government approval for distribution under a special export exception. We are now required to obtain and verify specific information from clients downloading software from our website. Dynamic's FTP site has been restricted with a login and password in order to comply with these regulations. Following registration and acceptance of the export terms and conditions, authorized resellers may submit requests to ssn@dynamic.com for temporary access to ftp, as necessary, to download beta or revision-specific versions.
The redesigned download section at www.dynamic.com makes it easier than ever to obtain the latest versions of Dynamic Concepts software. After completing a one-time registration, you login with your email address and password. Instead of manually downloading each product, simply choose the platform and preferred delivery format and the system delivers you a single file containing all of the selected products.
Release 6.3.1 of dL4Term with SSH is available for download and installation at customer sites. This release includes support for both Telnet and SSH connections. dL4Term is included with each UniBasic or dL4 license, at no extra charge.
If you are installing dL4 solutions on Windows, a new Telnet-like service is included with the latest dL4 release. By installing dL4 and our new service on a Windows server, dL4Term users can 'Telnet' to the server, without purchasing Citrix or Windows Terminal Server licenses. You still need to license the appropriate number of 'Windows' users.
Encryption for dL4 and UniBasic Data Files
Beta versions of dL4 & UniBasic with data file encryption will be available to developers in February, with a final release expected by summer. In the initial version, all or portions of records in Contiguous or Indexed-Contiguous files can be encrypted using the AES, Triple DES or DES algorithms - without changing your application. Each UniBasic or dL4 session maintains a list of keys to be used in creating or opening encrypted files. The list is initially loaded with the keys from the optional key file and can be modified during the session. An SSN option must be enabled to use encrypted files.
