UniBasic Migration and Development

UniBasic is an interactive Business BASIC development language that operates on a wide range of Unix-based systems, including IBM AIX, Apple OS X, HP/UX, RedHat Linux, SCO Open Server 5/6 and Solaris. UniBasic is a migration and evolutionary path for applications and data originally written for the IRIS, NIROS, IDOS and BITS operating systems. An included set of migration utilities provides a 100% conversion of those applications and databases to Unix quickly and seamlessly.

UniBasic goes well beyond the capabilities of those legacy systems, providing application developers powerful new features and unparalleled performance. UniBasic includes the ODBCdL4 server, providing access to UniBasic data files from any ODBC compliant application - including Microsoft Access and Crystal Reports. UniBasic also includes the dynamicPaper printer drivers for printing form overlays.

Its open-systems architecture supports multiple users on a single Unix host, resulting in an extremely cost-effective solution for high volume business transactions. It is not uncommon for applications using UniBasic to host up to 2,048 users on a single system. The highly efficient file structure is designed to provide rapid access to small databases as well as those containing millions of records.

UniBasic integrates with dynamicXport to web-enable your existing applications and data.  ASP licenses for UniBasic allow the delivery of legacy or web-enabled applications over the Internet and you have the option of using our data center and servers to seamlessly deliver your applications.

UniBasic developers and users may also upgrade to dL4 to deploy even more sophisticated features, including SQL databases and GUI development.
